The Atlas Gas Processing Facility (AGPF) and pipeline were designed and constructed by Jemena to process and transport gas from Senex Energy’s Atlas block in the Surat Basin to Wallumbilla, via Jemena’s Darling Downs Pipeline (DDP). 

The Atlas acreage was the first domestic gas tender issued by the Queensland Government intended to increase supply of gas and help provide energy security for businesses and households on Australia’s east cost. Jemena built the facility to process and transport Senex gas to the domestic market. Since commencement of commercial operation in November 2019, production at the Atlas has increased to the nameplate of 48TJ/d in February 2023. The AGPF connects to the DDP via a 60km lateral pipeline.

The AGPF is a single user facility. The pipeline is subject to a 5 year category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the National Gas Rules.
